ConflictCheck / Privacy policy
Privacy policy
Last updated March 2, 2026. This policy covers the conflictcheckapp.com website. Client data held inside a paid ConflictCheck account is governed by the data protection terms in the subscription agreement.
MLJ, SASU publishes ConflictCheck and is the controller of the personal information described below. We collect as little as we can, we use it only for the purpose it was given, and we never sell it. This page is written to be read by an attorney evaluating a vendor, so it names fields and periods rather than speaking in generalities.
What the request form collects
The only place this website gathers personal information from you is the request form in the contact section of the home page. When you send it, the following named fields are transmitted: name (your full name), email (your work email address), company (your practice name), role (your role in the practice, chosen from a list), request (whether you want a demo, early access or a quote), size (the number of attorneys in the practice), message (your free text description of how you run a conflict check today) and consent (your confirmation that we may contact you and store the request).
Four further values travel with the submission and are not personal information about you: form-name, which identifies the form, subject, which labels the notification we receive, recipient, which routes the message to the publisher's mailbox, and bot-field, a hidden field left empty by human visitors and used only to discard automated spam. Please do not include client names, matter details or any privileged information in the message field. We do not need it to run a demo, and this form is not the right channel for it.
Why we process it, and on what legal basis
Your submission is used for one purpose: to answer your request and, if you ask for one, to arrange and run a demonstration. Where European rules apply, the legal basis is the steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, together with our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries about our own product. Where United States state privacy laws apply, the processing is limited to the purpose you submitted the form for, which those laws describe as the reasonably expected use. We do not use your details for profiling, we do not build advertising audiences, and we do not enrich your record with data bought from third parties.
Who processes the submission
This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. Form submissions are received, stored and made available to us through Netlify Forms, which means Netlify processes and stores the content of your message on our behalf as our service provider. A copy of each submission is also delivered by email to the publication director. Nobody else receives your submission, and it is not shared with any advertising network, data broker or marketing platform.
Cookies, analytics and tracking
This site sets no advertising cookie, runs no third party analytics script, and carries no social media tracking pixel. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. Netlify records standard server request logs, including IP address and user agent, for security and abuse prevention, and those logs are retained by Netlify under its own retention schedule. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com to fetch the two typefaces used here.
How long submissions are kept
Requests that lead to a subscription are kept for the life of the account and for three years after it closes, because they form part of the commercial record. Requests that do not lead to a subscription are deleted twenty four months after the last exchange between us. Submissions that the honeypot field identifies as automated spam are discarded without review. You can ask us to delete your request sooner and we will do it, subject only to any record we are legally required to keep.
International transfers
MLJ, SASU is established in France and Netlify, Inc. is established in the United States, so a submission sent from the United States is received and read in France, and a submission sent from the European Union is stored on infrastructure operated by a United States provider. Transfers between the two rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses in Netlify's data processing agreement. Client data inside a paid ConflictCheck account is stored in United States regions and is not transferred outside them without written instruction from the account owner.
Your rights
If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah or Virginia, you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to obtain a copy of it, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of those rights. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of, but a request to confirm that will be answered in writing. California residents may designate an authorized agent to act for them. Where a request is refused, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and we will respond to the appeal within forty five days.
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation gives you the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection to processing based on legitimate interest, together with the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. In France that authority is the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertes.
How to exercise them
Write to jimenezjulien42@gmail.com with the email address you used on the form and tell us what you want done. We answer within one business day and complete the request within thirty days, or within forty five days where a state law allows an extension and we tell you why. We may ask one question to confirm that the request comes from you, and we charge nothing for any of this.
Children's privacy
ConflictCheck is a professional tool sold to law practices. The site is not directed to children, we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under sixteen, and we have no reason to receive it through a business enquiry form. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to the address above and we will delete it promptly.
Security and changes to this policy
Submissions travel over encrypted connections and are stored in encrypted form by our processor. Access to the mailbox that receives them is protected by two factor authentication and limited to the publication director. If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it, and a material change affecting how existing submissions are used will be sent by email to anyone whose request is still on file.
